LONESOME DOVE MINISTRY TEAMS
Lonesome Dove Cowboy Church's goal is to get the Gospel just a little further down the trail, sometimes the trails are long and even lonely, but that’s why we are a family.
We refer to our ministry teams as the 'kitchen table' because it is a symbol of many things: the place where we nourish ourselves, where we come together, celebrate important milestones, share experiences, and create new understandings. Not for nothing, it is a place often associated with God’s grace and goodness.
Lonesome Dove offers a wide variety of groups and activities that are unique to the cowboy culture. Each ministry has a unique function within the church and your involvement has a vital purpose.
ARENA TEAM
Reaching out to the lost cowboys and cowgirls and bringing in the strays to hear God’s word through arena events is the mission of the Arena Team.
The members of this team are responsible for the oversight, care, maintenance, and use of the arena. The arena team is very active in sponsoring events such as ropings, sortings, barrel races, play days, trail rides, and clinics.
All of our events require participation from all kinds of people. Everyone's welcome, you don’t have to own a horse or even know how to ride one to be a part of the Arena Team. Please see the calendar section on our Arena page to learn more about up and coming events.
CHUCKWAGON MINISTRY
Outside of the 'round-up,' there just might be no more identifiable object for the cowboy and cattle trail of the Old West than that of the Chuck Wagon.
The experience of the wagon at Lonesome Dove Cowboy Church is just the same as you would have seen them out on the range in the early 1900s. Historically the smells of campfire and coffee would welcome the cowboys home from a hard day’s work and wake them in the morning for another. It's all about gathering around the campfire, cast iron pots, having good food, fellowship, and music.
For Tim Collier, the Chuckwagon is all about the people he has met and served. "It's all about the people we get to reach and serve in our communities. I keep track by the number of spoons I’ve handed out through the summer."
Join our team to learn more about authentic cowboy cooking and to minister the Good News of our savior, Jesus Christ through food and fellowship!
PRAYER TEAM MINISTRY
To glorify God by being a faithful servant of all that has been entrusted to us. The prayer team ministry is extremely important here at Lonesome Dove Cowboy Church. TEENS
One of the greatest responsibilities of a church is to nurture and guide our youth. We strive to reach the hearts of all teenagers by teaching them the whole Bible and the truth in the Bible. Our typical Wednesday night consists of meetings, games, team-building activities, and lessons through the stories of the Bible.
KIDS CORRAL
KIDS AGES 4- 6th GRADE
Our primary focus is to reach, teach, and disciple kids for Christ as we partner with parents to build the next generation with a deep spiritual foundation. Our kids’ ministry environments are specifically designed with each age group in mind so that your kids will experience age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and worship in a safe and secure environment with leaders who love God and kids.
We intentionally plan exciting services for your children that will help them to learn about God and His great love for them. Our goal is for your kids to enjoy their time here and beg you to bring them back each week!
LITTLE WRANGLERS
NURSERY
Our Tiny Blessings are very dear to us and require an abundant amount of attention. Our little ones are always under close supervision. We try very hard to establish the exact type of policies any registered childcare center requires to have. Our staff consists of church member volunteers who work with this age group on a daily basis. Nursery services are available during the Sunday service only.
Parent volunteers are strongly encouraged.
